Hebrews 6:7-8

For ground that has drunk the rain that has fallen on it and that produces vegetation useful to those it is cultivated for receives a blessing from God. But if it produces thorns and thisiles, it is worthless and about to be cursed and will be burned at the end.

I have realised that I am ground and am always producing vegetation. The key thing is not the production of the vegetation but the usefulness of the vegetation.

The question I need to ask is this: Am I producing vegetation that is useful?

For a field to produce the right kind of vegetation, some work needs to be done on it.

First the field needs to be cleared, then it needs to be broken, after which the right kind of seeds need to be planted.

That’s what happens when we get saved. Jesus clears the ground and takes away all our shame and the right kinds of seeds are planted.

But you have to realise that before the ground was cleared, because of its location and the climatic conditions, certain weeds had made the ground there home.

This was now their stronghold

When the planted seed begins to grow, the cleared weeds also begin to germinate. These weeds need to be cleared, or they will affect the quality of fruit produced by the planted seed.

What kind of weeds had a strong hold over your life before the land was cleared?

Was it the weed of adultery? Fornication?, stealing?, lust and masturbation?, drunkenness?, drug addiction?,….

Are you finding that there are seasons in your life when these weeds seem to overpower the seed of Christ in you?

Or have you become accustomed the weeds so that they are now a part of you?

Yes you are saved but you smoke! Yes you are saved but you get drunk and not in the Holy Ghost!

Yes you are saved but you masturbate!………

Have the weeds of sin overcome you and you can not uproot them? Are you ev3een willing to uproot them or have you become addicted to the pleasure you derive from them, and deep down you are not willing to uproot them?

As long as you allow the weeds of sin to grow in your ground, the seed of Christ will not bear fruit it will always be chocked.

Allow God to do some weeding in your life today and make sure the weeds come out with the roots otherwise they will surely grow again

How truthful and serious am I about this?

Weeding is not a onetime event; it’s a deliberate and continuous action
